Brigade Hotel Ventures (BHVL) has announced plans to expand its portfolio with the development of five new hotels across India. The cities earmarked for expansion are Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru in Karnataka, Hyderabad in Telangana, and Vaikom in Kerala.
Brigade Enterprises plans to expand its hospitality portfolio by adding three luxury hotels, set to raise its inventory to 2,600 keys by FY29. The properties, to be managed by top global hospitality brands, include the Intercontinental Hyderabad at Brigade Neopolis, the Grand Hyatt Resort on Chennai’s East Coast Road, and a luxury resort on Vaikom Island in Kerala. This expansion is anticipated to significantly boost the company’s capabilities and market presence.
Grand plans
BHVL has signed a non-binding term sheet with Hyatt in India for the Grand Hyatt Chennai project, though a definitive management agreement is yet to be finalised.
Additionally, BHVL plans to strengthen its presence in the upper midscale segment by launching two branded hotels in Bengaluru. One will be near Bengaluru Airport, while the other will be in Hosur. These properties will operate under the ‘Fairfield by Marriott’ brand, following a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Marriott India.
The construction timeline targets completion of the Grand Hyatt Chennai resort and the two upper midscale hotels in Bengaluru by FY28. The remaining two luxury hotels in Hyderabad and Kerala are expected to be operational by 2029.
Recently, BHVL expanded its footprint by opening the 130-key ‘ibis Styles Mysuru’ in Karnataka, bringing its total inventory to 1,604 keys as of 30 October, 2024, up from 1,474 keys on 31 March, 2022.
