ISHIKA SETHI TEAM METROLIFE
he Rotary Bengaluru Midtown I is looking for volunteers to join their upcoming initiative to clear blackspots around Bengaluru. Titled ‘A Better Bengaluru and Be the Change’, it will be formally announced ata public event on Saturday. Itis a collaboration with the Brigade Foundation. A ‘blackspot’refers to a site where trash or waste piles up regularly. Palani Loganathan, president of Rotary Bengaluru Midtown, says.
“Volunteers will be divided into two groups: ‘Thought Leaders’and ‘Action Leaders’. The former will identify areas that are in need of cleaning, and the latter will carry out the cleanup efforts.”
Citizens interested in volunteering can register on bengalurubrigade. org at the event or later. The website will go live next week. Once it is active, residents can contact volunteer groups in their respective areas to assist with cleanup efforts, or share photographs of blackspots.
