BIOGAS BIZ EXPECTS TO SEE ₹2,800-CR FRESH INVESTMENTS
The Indian Biogas Association expects to unlock over ₹2,800 crore in fresh investment for India's bioenergy sector. The industry body is planning to hold the Renewable Energy India Expo in October 2026. The investment pipeline from the Expo represents nearly 12 per cent of the GOBARdhan scheme outlay.
BIOGAS BIZ EXPECTS TO SEE ₹2,800-CR FRESH INVESTMENTS FC CORRESPONDENT NEW DELHI, SEPT. 27 The Indian Biogas Association on Sunday said that they expect to unlock over ₹2,800 crore in fresh investment for India's bioenergy sector.
"This year, the spotlight is firmly on biogas as a game-changer for India's green growth," the IBA said.
The industry body is the planning to hold Renewable Energy India Expo (REI) 2026 from October 22 to 24, at the India Expo Mart & Centre, Greater Noida.
"The ₹2,800 crore investment pipeline expected from the Expo represents nearly 12 per cent of the
₹23,731 crore GOBARdhan scheme outlay," the IBA said.
IBA president A R Shukla said that India is no longer looking at biogas as just a rural solution. It is now a cornerstone of the clean energy economy, supporting farmers, fuelling transport. "With the scheme providing long-term pricing certainty, REI 2026 will show how the sector is scaling from pilot projects to nationwide impact," he said.
